If you're familiar with my family, you know we have a penchant for extravagant birthday celebrations. Birthdays, marking the anniversary of a person's birth, are cherished occasions celebrated across cultures with gifts, cards, parties, and rites of passage. Many religions also commemorate the births of their founders with special holidays like Christmas. In our family, the birthday tradition involves singing the "happy birthday song" with gusto, at varying pitches and speeds, which can be quite embarrassing, especially in public settings like restaurants. One memorable birthday celebration that stands out took place at my beloved childhood haunt, the Rainforest Cafe. Rainforest Cafe, a jungle-themed restaurant adorned with animatronic animals, provided an immersive dining experience that transported us to a wild jungle setting. Our ritual involved a leisurely stroll through the mall, a pit stop at Build-A-Bear Workshop to create a furry companion, and finally, an eagerly anticipated visit to the restaurant. One of the highlights of the Rainforest Cafe experience was waiting to be seated while marveling at the expansive fish tank, where I'd pass the time counting the laps of the fish as they circled around. Once seated, my favorite birthday indulgence awaited: The Sparkling Volcano. This delectable dessert, comprising a towering chocolate brownie cake adorned with vanilla ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauces, whipped cream, and a sparkling sparkler on top, never failed to delight. Though initially hesitant to stand on my chair as the staff serenaded me with "Happy Birthday," I quickly embraced the tradition, eagerly anticipating the festive fanfare. Another cherished aspect of Rainforest Cafe birthdays was the visit from balloon artists, who crafted whimsical creations to add to the festivities. These birthday celebrations are etched in my memory as joyous occasions filled with laughter, love, and delightful indulgences, creating timeless memories to treasure forever.
I love blues music, especially artists like Jimi Hendrix and SRV (Stevie Ray Vaughan). Their music really resonates with me. When it comes to achieving success or good luck, I'm willing to put in the effort and dedication necessary.
